Photos is trying to help you have a huge photo library but take up minimal local space in doing this, but in the end it’s only one shared synced library. ![]() Will take up MUCH more space though.Īgain, the low-res copy is a placeholder. It doesn’t affect how anything works, you just don’t have to wait for the full-res version to download if you want to edit a photo. That doesn’t affect how the Photos library syncing happens, however, but it will replace all the low-res placeholder versions of your photos with full-res versions. You can select the preference setting that determines whether what is on your PC are actual full-res or low-res “preview” copies of your photos.
